Bernard Maybeck and the Guy Hyde Chick House, 1914.
Designed by Bernard Maybeck, the architect of the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, The Guy Hyde Chick House was created to elicit a feeling of living in Nature.
The lush greenery of the Oakland Hills surrounds the two-story estate, and the large windows are also doors that open into the gardens, mixing indoor and out. The house was built entirely out of Redwood in 1914.
The only Maybeck private home in the world available for private event rentals.
